This ain't your great-granny's tent Revival!! The Atkins Tent Revival is the musical project led by singer/songwriter and Waco, TX native Ben Atkins. After initially starting the project in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2018), Atkins moved back to Texas (2020) and reformed the band in Waco with a stellar group of local talent includig Dan Garret on Bass, Mikey Uptmore on Drums, Kent Klaras on Lead Guitar, and Sean Anderson on Keyboard.
The band's music combines influences from blues, country, soul, ranchera (Mexico), folk, R&B, hip-hop, gospel, and rock. The songwriting is anecdotal, and the lyrics look to connect with the listener through universal experiences of love, loneliness, financial instability, and the basic human desire to have a good time. The ATR's performances bring these stories to life in a poetic confessional led by Atkins' nuclear vocals.
Atkins currently resides in Trondheim (2023) with his wife and 1 year old son, but before leaving for Norway the Tent Revival recorded a new album at Stinky Puppy Studios in Waco, TX which is set to be released early 2024.
