As a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, my goal is to help others love the body they’re in, love to move their body, and teach them to move with a purpose. My job is to make their life easier as they gain strength, confidence, and watch their self esteem grow as they’re progressing in their fitness journey! Denice Treviño DTB FIT

Hope Balfa is a certified TurnUp Dance Fitness instructor and owner of TurnUp Waco. After being in sports and musical productions throughout childhood, (and a self identified "gym rat" in early adulthood), Hope first began teaching dance fitness as a way to cope with a traumatic time in her life. Since then, Hope has continued to help other women get stronger, feel more confident, practice better self care, and even find their voice through her dance fitness classes. She first began instructing ZUMBA Fitness classes in 2011, then REFIT, and eventually found her "squad"- theTurnUp Dance Fitness community- in 2021.
In the past, Hope was a successful health coach for an international weight loss company, but stepped away from that role because she saw that dieting and external behavior modifications alone don't create lasting change when the root issues aren't addressed. She wanted clients to love themselves, first, and not for their self-love to be conditional and based on their size.
As a Master's level Social Worker, Hope's message regarding fitness for the community is this: "Healing and lifelong health isn't a destination, it's a journey, and I am honored to be an educator and encourager, providing the reassurance and helpful tools my clients need along their path. When we actively practice care for our mental and emotional wellbeing, nourishing our bodies with the food, movement, rest, and ritual that simply makes us feel better, everything else falls into place."

Hi!! My name is Missy Kornegay. I am a Certified Personal Trainer. I have a very supportive husband, two amazing kids, four bonus daughters, along with two son-in-laws and grandbabies, yes I’m that old. I have been a trainer since 2019. I received my certificate while working at a local gym. My husband finally built his dream shop and let me have a portion of his piece of heaven to build myself a home gym. I decided to start taking a few 1:1 clients but quickly found out that there are MANY women who are intimidated to walk through gym doors so, I quit my full-time job and started training 1:1 giving them a “safe spot”. I love watching my clients transform and feel more confident in their skin. Thank you for the nomination. To say I was surprised is an understatement. Good luck to all of the other nominees as well.
